The Grads (8-3) remain atop the CJHL Robinson division with their 5-2 pasting of the Sens Oct. 14 at the Navan Memorial displace which saw 23 total penalties called throughout the game including 5 fighting majors. Jason Akeson. Daniel Sauve. Patrick Roger. Matthew Dawdy and Jeffrey Clarke scored for the Grads while Adam Laderoute made 26 saves for his second win in as many starts. Grads head instruct Mark Grady called the game a “bit of a prepare affair” and liked the fact that his players stuck up for each other but he still believes some players on the Sens exhibited “unacceptable” behaviour and that had to be dealt with.“I think we’re not necessarily the toughest team but we’re certainly team tough and it was nice to see the guys fasten up for each other,” Grady said. “I convey I was happy to see guys sticking up for each other because (the Sens) took some liberties. I won’t have in mind any names but they had a bring together of their guys that were (using) cowardly stick plays like slashing on wrists and that’s just not going to be acceptable.”Grady added his players should be pleased with the final prove of the game but he said everyone is “not happy” with the lack of effort displayed by the Grads through the first forty minutes against Ottawa and that needs to dress if they hope to remain successful.“We’ve positioned ourselves very come up within the division and we’re starting to pull away from some teams in the division but I’m still looking for more consistency,” he said. “I’d desire to see some guys go up.”The Orléans Blues (3-8) played a strong game against the Brockville Braves Oct. 12 at the Brockville Memorial Centre but still came up bunco. The Blues took the play to the Braves through the last two periods outshooting them 22-8 but a “shaky start” mixed with suspect goaltending was too much for the team to overcome. “We didn’t dominate but we controlled the bet from (the second) on,” Blues head coach Mike Ruest said. “We were playing catch-up and it’s not always easy. We made a bet of it but we came up short.“It was one of those losses where if you’re struggling a little bit after the game the loss actually felt like a win because of the way we played in the second and third period,” he added. “So we took the positive out of the game and I think the boys are pretty close to breaking out of our droop.”Blues Sean Blunden. Andrew Creppin and Chris Somerville with two scored against the Braves while Steven Cross made 18 saves for the loss. Despite suffering the team’s seventh straight loss the Blues remain just one point out of third displace with two games at hand on their rivals from Hawkesbury.-- Jamie Harkins
